Dr. Jolen Galaugher, Executive Director, Research Partnerships and Innovation, RRC Polytech
Jolen is a leader, an innovator, a business development strategist, and a connector of people and organizations.
As the Executive Director of Research Partnerships and Innovation at Red River College Polytech, Jolen leads a team of 70 people to carry out RRC Polytech’s cross-institutional applied research enterprise, including NSERC Technology Access Centers, and other Centers and programmatic areas of excellence in energy, advanced manufacturing, food and ag innovation, early childhood development, digital technologies and AI. Jolen also leads the research innovation and commercialization portfolio including the 24M federal investment in the College-University Lab to Market network for entrepreneurship and research commercialization across 11 hubs in Canada.
With a doctorate from McMaster University, as well as leadership and management training from Harvard Business School, Jolen has extensive expertise in research commercialization and industry partnered and applied research, has led research innovation and commercialization advisory boards, and developed new research innovation funding programs and Centers. Jolen promotes the development of high value and sustainable strategic partnerships in diverse industry sectors to create win-win outcomes.
Jolen has been a strong advocate for the translation of research into tangible economic, social and environmental impacts.
